An Alternative in Malpractice Insurance Coverage
In 2004, after two years as a Risk Retention Group (RRG), Positive Physicians Insurance Exchange received approval from the PA Department of Insurance to transition to an insurance exchange model – allowing us to develop an optimal alternative to traditional malpractice coverage options available to physicians in Pennsylvania.
Since our transition in 2004 to an exchange, PPIX has grown significantly to insure and retain several hundred Pennsylvania physicians including various specialties such as Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Medicine, Urology, Emergency Medicine, Physiatry, Anesthesia, Plastic Surgery, General Surgery, Radiology, Pain Management, and Podiatry.
As a domiciled reciprocal insurance exchange, our mission has always been to provide a stable, long-term physician-driven resource to control medical malpractice insurance that will allow our policyholders the peace of mind to grow and develop their practices without rising insurance rates threatening business survival.
