Positive Physicians Insurance Exchange is pleased to announce our partnership with NAS Insurance Services - an independent underwriting manager of specialty products with full binding authority to underwrite on behalf of Lloyd’s of London and other highly rated carriers. Exclusively for all PPIX insureds, NAS Insurance Services will offer a group of innovative coverages for a broad spectrum of medical specialties. These include:

Specialty Coverages for Physicians MEDEFENSE™ Plus/e-MD™

e-MD™ Network Security & Privacy Insurance - $50,000 limit
Includes Third party liability coverage for a breach of network security or privacy breach. Coverage is for both online and offline information, virus attacks, denial of service, and failure to prevent transmission of malicious code. Also extends coverage for defense costs and fines/penalties for violations of privacy regulations including but not limited to HIPAA, and the new Hi-Tech Act.

MEDEFENSE™Plus - $50,000 limit
NAS’ trademark coverage for the broad regulatory defense and fines/penalties coverage for defense of an allegation of overbilling. This coverage extends to allegations made by Governmental Agencies, Qui Tam Plaintiffs, Contractors Working on Behalf of the Government (such as RAC and ZPIC), and commercial Payors. Patient Notification & Credit Monitoring Costs Insurance - $50,000 limit
Includes all necessary legal, PR, advertising and postage expenses incurred by the insured to notify third persons. Will also pay for credit monitoring for all affected parties.

Recovery Costs Insurance - $5,000 limit
All reasonable and necessary sums required to recover and/or replace data that is compromised, damaged, lost, erased or corrupted.
